DAY 1: JOURNEY TO PRONOJIWO VILLAGE
Welcome to East Java! Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by our Javanese driver in Surabaya. Today, you will visit Wonosari Tea Plantation. The plantation is located on the slope of Mount Arjuno. At this tourist destination, visitors can witness and savour the unique experience of observing the tea processing, starting from the plucked leaves to the final product ready for consumption. The location is easily accessible, approximately 30 km to the north of the city.
Continue your journey to Jodipan Colorful Village in the centre of Malang. This village lies on the banks of Berantas River. Locals who live here, decorate their neighbourhood with many various colours and beautiful hand-made ornaments. You may also meet some local children who want to take a picture with you because they are happy to meet travellers.
Today, you will stop at Pronojiwo Village, which is about a 5-hour drive from Surabaya or a 3-hour drive from Malang. You will stay at a local homestay near the waterfall, allowing you to start early in the morning and avoid crowds, especially during the high season.

DAY 2: VISIT TUMPAK SEWU WATERFALL
This morning at 07.00, you will visit Tumpak Sewu Waterfall that is known as the biggest and the most spectacular waterfall in Indonesia. After arriving at vistas point, enjoy the view of majestic waterfall with Mount Semeru as a backdrop. Now you will go down to the river below through the stairs and be ready to explore the hidden caves where you can take a dip in the natural pool.
Afterwards, our driver will take you to Cemoro Lawang Village. It takes about 6 hours to drive to reach this village. You will stay in a hotel with a scenic mountain view.

DAY 3: EXPLORE MOUNT BROMO
Today, you will start early at 3:30 AM. Hop into a 4x4 vehicle and head towards Sunrise Point, located at an elevation of 2,600 meters above sea level, to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Afterwards, continue by 4x4 to the Sea of Sand, renowned as the largest volcanic ash caldera on Earth. Stop in front of the Luhur Poten Temple, situated at the foot of Mount Bromo, and begin an easy hike to reach the rim of Bromo’s crater. Here, you can truly feel the power of an active crater beneath your feet.
This morning you have an exclusive picnic breakfast at the Sea of Sand. Enjoy authentic Indonesian food made by local family and some seasonal tropical fruits with view of scenic Mount Bromo. (Optional)
Today is your last day, our driver will take you to Surabaya for your next domestic or international flight. Finally, BromoVolcano team wishes you safe flight until your next destination.

1. Are Tumpak Sewu waterfall and Mount Bromo safe for children?
Tumpak Sewu Waterfall has been improved to be more tourist-friendly. However, since the destination involves many stairs, children may find the journey tiring. It takes approximately 4 hours to explore the entire waterfall
Mount Bromo is family-friendly destination. It is easy to explore and relatively safe for the children.
2. What time does the tour to Tumpak Sewu & Mount Bromo start from Surabaya?
Please choose a flight or train schedule that arrives in Surabaya before 11:00 AM. Alternatively, we can pick you up from your hotel in Surabaya at 9:00 AM. For your information, Wonosari Tea Plantation closes around 3:00 PM.
If starting in the morning is not possible for you, Wonosari Tea Plantation and Jodipan Colorful Village will be removed from your itinerary. Our driver will take you directly to Pronojiwo Village.
3. What time does the tour finish in Surabaya?
You are estimated to arrive in Surabaya by 1:00 PM. If you have plan to take a flight on the same day, please choose a flight schedule departing after 3:00 PM
6. Is it possible to start the tour from my hotel in Yogyakarta?
For your journey from Yogyakarta to Surabaya, I suggest taking a train. It is faster and more affordable. Here are the schedules:
Sancaka Train: Departs at 6:45 AM from Yogykarta Station (YK), arrives at 10:45 AM at Surabaya Gubeng Station (SGU)
Sancaka Train : Departs at 11:30 AM from Yogyakarta Station (YK), arrives at 3:30 PM at Surabaya Gubeng Station (SGU).
Choose executive class for comfortable seat. The tickets are available 45 days prior to your departure and can be purchased on traveloka.com or tiket.com
Avoid booking the train at the last minute, as it might sell out.
7. During my journey to East Java, can I stop in Mojokerto instead of Surabaya Gubeng Station. It seems I will arrive earlier?
Yes, you can, but please note that the train only stops for a few minutes in Mojokerto. If you’re confident you can disembark quickly, we can pick you up at Mojokerto Station. However, for your information, the train stops for about an hour at Surabaya Gubeng Station, making it almost impossible to miss. This is why we prefer to pick you up at Surabaya Gubeng Station.
8. Is a deposit required to secure the booking?
Yes, a 50% deposit is required to secure the booking. This deposit will be used to book the hotel we propose, ensuring that you get the room and the tour meets your expectations.
9. When should the remaining balance be paid?
The remaining balance should be paid 14 days prior to your departure.
10. When is the best time to book the tour to Tumpak Sewu waterfall & Mount Bromo?
If you are traveling during the high season, which spans from July to September, I advise booking the tour 3-4 months in advance. The reason is that reputable hotels in the Bromo and Ijen area are limited. Booking early ensures you secure nice rooms for your trip with us. Especially for families or large groups, it is better to book the tour earlier.
11. What if I unexpectedly need to cancel my booking for some reason?
If you need to cancel your tour unexpectedly or at short notice, we are very sorry about that. However, please note that some hotels may refuse to refund the fees, and we may need to charge you for that. The remaining amount will be refunded to you after deducting a 7% booking fee. We also recommend contacting your travel insurance for reimbursement.
12. What if the tour to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall or Mount Bromo must to be cancelled due to a natural disaster?
Volcanoes and waterfalls can be very unpredictable. We are extremely sorry if this happens. However, we suggest purchasing travel insurance that covers such situations, so you can receive reimbursement.
Alternatively, we will do our best to arrange another activity for you. However, we will not make any changes to the booking confirmation document without your permission. Our travel experts will ensure to contact you and work together to find a suitable solution.
13. Is there anything I need to be aware of for my trip to Tumpak Sewu waterfall and Mount Bromo?
Please note that Mount Bromo is also closed on Silence Day (March 29–30, 2025) and during the Kasada Ceremony (June 10–11, 2025).
